Making sure we have the best developers in the world starts with our hiring process. While skill level is very important, we also make sure that the personality of potential team members will mesh well within our existing company culture.

We are sometimes hired to work on large-scale, complex projects with very little lead time — this means that our ability to gel as a team and hit the ground running is vital to the success of any project. Here’s what to expect if you’d like to be a part of our team.

1. Initial Skype Meeting

Once you apply for a job, we will get in touch if your credentials are a good match. On the call, you’ll get a breakdown of who we are, what we do, and what to expect when working with us. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know more about you. And don’t worry, we don’t bite — we’re generally an easy-going and friendly bunch :). If we feel you have the potential to be a part of the team, we’ll give you details for the next steps. And even if you aren’t quite right for the job you applied to, we always keep resumes on file for future projects.

2. Live Coding Challenge

The next step after the initial skype meeting is the coding challenge. You will choose a time that works for you and schedule a screen-sharing meeting with one of our interviewers where you will be asked to code live. This is the opportunity to show us what you’ve got and it gives us a chance to see how you perform under pressure — but no pressure (catch 22, maybe?). If the HR Manager receives positive feedback, and offer will be prepared. If not, don’t worry, you can always apply again after some time has passed.

3. The Offer

After successfully completing the coding challenge, our HR Manager will reach out with an offer and details about how to complete your Upstack profile so that potential clients can have access to it. The sooner this step is completed, the sooner you get to start working on some awesome projects.

4. Congratulations, You’re A Part of the Team

Even though our company is made up of developers and other talented individuals who work remotely all over the world, we are constantly interfacing with each other. We use collaborative tools like Asana and Slack to keep in touch and in sync — and definitely have a bit of fun while we’re at it. We love what we do and it shows in our work.

Think this sounds like something you’d want to be a part of?
