The Challenge

After TaskRabbit was acquired by IKEA, customer growth exploded. The core team was already operating at capacity, rolling out new features and focusing on critical maintenance. TaskRabbit needed to scale quickly with top talent capable of jumping right in.

Traditionally, TaskRabbit recruited through their own job board and recruiters, but this process was slow and laborious, often taking months to find and onboard the right candidates.

TaskRabbit needed engineers capable of hitting their aggressive product roadmap goals immediately. Additionally, it was vital that any oncoming developers would be able to fit seamlessly into TaskRabbit’s company culture.

"UpStack excels and really takes the service to the next level. We’ve never had to send anyone back and that speaks a lot on the technical part that UpStack has been able to bring us."

VP of Engineering, TaskRabbit

The Solution

The TaskRabbit and UpStack collaboration began with a comprehensive evaluation of TaskRabbit’s short, mid, and long-term product roadmap and how to recruit talent with the most relevant skillset. Within days, UpStack provided TaskRabbit with a list of candidates who would best suit their technical needs and fit seamlessly into their company culture.

UpStack helped TaskRabbit prioritize their immediate needs, focusing on several areas including the TaskRabbit app and various admin tools. With a comprehensive understanding of TaskRabbit’s tech stack, UpStack was able to select the right candidates from our pool of over 1500 prevetted developers.

The partnership continues today with UpStack providing top-tier developer talent working so successfully with the TaskRabbit team, they’ve even won awards from management.
