He started his career as a development engineer for Ericsson and later handled risk management, analysis, and organization software systems for JP Morgan. Volkan has also delivered over 100 projects as a managing partner for Business Integration Partners in Turkey.
Delivered over 100 projects for top-tier banks including Acquiring: Retention reduction, Issuing: Payments digital strategy, Issuing: Campaign roadmap design.
Handled commercial card design and consumer-to-commercial migration Big Data model development for an east European bank.
Worked with a major Turkish bank, implementing a purchasing card strategy and go-to-market plan development for the purchasing card.
Created a mobile card management/loyalty app that offers a campaign mode according to Turkey's Axess Mobil. Designed the app, ran PMO, and conducted launch and post-launch activities. The software development was handled by Akbank's internal team.
Worked on the cluster module (network side fast path) of SpinServer, which at the time beat the then current file server (from NetApp) by a factor of 2x on the industry-standard benchmark (SpecFS).
The project was an ATM replatforming for enhanced omnichannel banking. Led the team designing ATM user flows to better integrate a digital omnichannel environment.
