Led a team of seven designers, marketers, and developers to acquire users and improve the app over time.
Developer's team was tasked by Expedia stakeholders to create a travel package booking app targeting college students. They conducted interviews and surveys to identify common pain points and conducted a competitive analysis of existing travel apps.
They proposed solutions focusing on personalization of travel experiences and recommendation of likely-to-be-interested packages. Received approval to proceed and initiated UI design testing.
By May 2016, the development kickstarted with bi-weekly user testing. They finished their MVP in August, launched it internally, followed by a public launch in October 2016 with ongoing iterations throughout 2017 based on user feedback.
The developers targeted the often neglected user group of seniors who were 75+ years old, creating a user interface designed specifically for and with older adults.
Surveys and testing sessions identified that communication with older adults was the biggest issue, enabling the team to create a design that 90% of users could learn to use within five minutes.
The project, named Ohana, began development in April 2017 and successfully launched on the app store in August 2017.
The Wynd Halo is an innovative device with ten sensors to monitor allergens, smoke, germs, pollution, and more, with the unique Air ID technology able to classify specific pollutants.
The key selling point of the Wynd Halo is its ability to control other devices and use sensors to understand and automatically adjust its user's environment, like light and sound adjustments.
The Wynd Halo's development was user-focused, from the defining specifications to feature selection, culminating in its launch in October 2019 to over 3,000 Kickstarter backers after a collaborative effort from design and software teams.
