Worked on a four-member team for the migration of Folha's 16 years old legacy sales systems from PL/SQL and Oracle DB to MySQL; saving the company up to $3M/year on Oracle licenses.
Built the entire cache layer and authentication/authorization management portal for the new media/news API using Varnish Software with atomic cache invalidation; which increased performance and removed the need for third-party software on the solution.
Led project development processes using Scrum, managed web application design and object oriented programming and conducted MySQL database modeling.
Worked on Folha de S.Paulo's Content Management System which fast tracks the company's processes for creating and publishing digital content in different formats. The Gutenberg CMS is easy to use and configurable - with features for creating new news contents, pages, publishing of media and sharing of web components across the client's multiple websites and blogs. It uses Laravel on the backend, React.js for the rendering of pages on the frontend and a Durin API as its primary source for content.
The Durin API - Folha de S.Paulo’s news and media Rest API was launched in 2015 to unify news and media content previously created and published by the client from different sources. The solution was developed using the PHP framework, Laravel 5 and a MySQL database. It has an entire cache layer app that provides the maximum performance and efficiency for the API, atomic content invalidation across multiple pages and server instances developed using Varnish Cache: which authenticates and authorizes users on the system before serving content.
Jones is an innovative newspaper sales system developed to replace a legacy sales system written in PL/SQL and Oracle DB. The new solution was developed as a web application compared to the old desktop app. We employed Folha de S.Paulo's web framework and MySQL database for the migration of the system. The Jones Sales System has modules for sales, distribution, franchise and newsstand management, payment processing and customer support.
