This headless website uses Next.js on the front end developed by another developer and WordPress on the back end I built. I was in charge of the entire project and made all the necessary development decisions that led to an industry-first website for the client.
Training Express provides online training on various topics. While they do have a good number of individual customers, their main focus is business customers. Their site was built with a WPLMS theme, and they did not have the necessary tools to accommodate the needs of business clients. Therefore, I was tasked with developing a business dashboard for their clients. I developed it within a very short amount of time, and they have been able to focus their entire business toward B2B sales due to the implementation of the dashboard. This dashboard also has API integration methods through which anyone can sell courses from Training Express using their own websites. While it would require one to purchase a business package to access the business dashboard, a sneak peek is given in the video on the right side of the hero section on the linked page.
This is a headless WordPress site where online courses are sold individually as well as on a subscription basis. The back end was already built in WordPress but was very slow and underperforming. Even old APIs were very slow. Then I was brought into the project, and I developed the back-end APIs for seamless and swift integration with the front end while also improving the quality of the back end.
I created the theme in the early days of my WordPress career as a practice but never submitted or uploaded it anywhere. However, when I applied to become a theme reviewer, I thought about submitting at least one theme to become a theme author myself so that I could experience the review process as an author as well. So, I tweaked the theme a bit and uploaded it. It got approved, and it allowed me to learn a great deal about WordPress coding standards. This theme was also an experiment with CSS pseudo-classes, through which the posts and widgets get automatic colors depending on their position (hence the name "Colorbox" came to my mind). Though it does not have many options, it will always remain a good starting point for my WordPress career.
