Javier is an experienced Software Engineer with strong technical competencies in Python and PHP; producing and implementing functional software, web and API solutions through a fast-paced, highly engaged and collaborative work ethic that takes advantage of the latest technologies for the implementation and deployment of clean readable code - supporting and streamlining best practices on projects for clients.
Provided expertise for technology evaluations; coding on new and existing software solutions on Reciprocity's information security platform.
Investigated errors in software programs, suggested and introduced modifications and rewrote programming codes to meet Reciprocity's specifications and requirements.
Adhered to Reciprocity's laid down processes and industry standards in the delivery of solutions on its platform.
Produced high level and detailed REST API solutions using Python's Django framework on the project.
Created well-structured, scalable, clean, modular, and testable frontend code solutions using React/Node.js.
Assisted with development and architecture processes; designing and implementing microservices and maintained reusable components and libraries on the solution.
Work with various business clients on projects; understanding their needs and developing high-level customizations or tools for implementation.
Act as a subject-matter expert on more developer domain-oriented software issues on projects; maintaining development processes for architecture design and end-user testing.
Stay current on software development tools and technological trends; working in a collaborative environment on projects.
Owned the design and development of solutions for new REST APIs using PHP and created tools to test performance with Python.
Replaced the enterprise framework on Olapic's visual marketing platform with new algorithms; applying modern design patterns and a microframework infrastructure on the solution.
Wrote unit tests using PHPUnit and created integration tests using the Behat BDD framework for product-facing features on the platform with stringent correctness and scalability.

Designed, developed and tested the electronic control of a trajectography radar Vitro 778C with a PIC microcontroller.
Developed and tested the GUI to communicate with the radar in Java and replaced the radar's main computer with an ARM microcontroller.
Wrote and developed the electronic design of the boards used for the PIC microcontrollers and performed real-time testing of the radar antenna's pedestal movements.
Worked on the simulation of a 200Gb/s optic chip for communication over continents for Clariphy Inc. The solution is a real-time digital processor of optical signals; presented at the OFC (Optical Fiber Conference) 2013 to clients of the organization - earning 10 new clients after the presentation. Handled different responsibilities over the project lifecycle and a team of 5 developers. Oversaw the development of algorithms using previous research and IEEE papers.
Olapic is a company dedicated to collecting pictures from social networks like Facebook/Instagram. The acquired pictures are then sold to companies like Adidas, L'oreal, Sephora and Disney. Worked on Olapic's REST API on its main curation platform for the selection of pictures from social media apps. Utilized PHP for the backend structure, Elasticsearch as a search engine, MySQL for database and Redis as a caching tool.
Developed REST APIs as widgets on websites for L'Oreal, Disney, Halfords, Sephora and Hyatt. Replaced legacy APIs with the capacity to receive 1M+ requests per hour on most sites and lots of data loss on the project. Worked in a collaborative environment on the development of new solutions from scratch for clients; by increasing the number of requests processed by the new APIs with the capacity to process up to 10x its usual capacity on special dates like Black Friday without any problem.
Created a Rest API for Exotic Objects' collection for Christie's, the London based auctioneers; raising GBP 200k+ for the collection which was considered a great success. Christie’s is a name and place that speaks of extraordinary art, unparalleled service, expertise and global reach. Worked as a backend Engineer for the REST API and the Admin.
Created an authentication and authorization server for Monotype; the service included a REST API used by other services on the platform to authenticate and authorise users. It also included a UI that allows Admins to create, update and delete users from the platform, and also assign permissions to them for the different services on the platform.
